Baird Glacier Postcard
$5.00
Baird Glacier is the second most southern tidal glacier in North America, meaning it discharges ice into the sea. It is only accessible by boat at high tide due to large tidal flats extending from the terminal moraine. Capturing this scene required rowing 3 miles from the nearest anchorage and camping at the base of the glacier. The drawing took over an hour, during which time the icy wind nearly froze me solid.
This postcard is part of the Inside Passage series of postcards capturing the beauty of the coastlines of Washington, British Columbia, and Alaska.
Standard 4”x6” postcard, matte coated picture with uncoated back. Drawn on location.
